Over the past 40 years the trattoria has solidified its reputation as the place to enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine in the area, and since 2002 Giacomo and Michele have been continuing the tradition. Giacomo’s mother, Lucia, is in the kitchen where each day she prepares a vast assortment of antipasti, as well as traditional first courses such the zuppa volterrana (bread and vegetable soup), delicious second courses made with game, not to mention the famous “baccalà rifatto” (pan-fried salted codfish stewed with tomatoes). Mamma Lucia also dedicates her hand to home-made desserts, and even makes her own jams and preserves, which make an ordinary torte turn into an unforgettable culinary experience.
